The Disabled community is most often looked over in suicide prevention conversations

The suicide rate for people with epilepsy is around 20% higher than the general population

Females with Autism are around 3 times higher risk of attempting suicide than females without Autism

Women with Autism and ADHD have the highest risk of attempting suicide

People with ADHD pose a higher risk of suicide

Around 30% of people who suffer from OCD report suicide ideation and around 10% have attempted suicide.

An estimated 34% of people who suffer from bipolar disorder attempt suicide

People who have experienced severe brain or physical trauma are very high risk for suicide.

Suicidal ideation and depression are much harder to diagnose for people with Autism, ADHD, OCD, Bipolar disorder and other mental disabilities as every person has different symptoms and presents depression in various ways. The conversation of suicide with people with mental illness is usually looked over as people do not know how to proceed. It is a complicated topic that does not have enough attention to it. The rates of suicide overall are much higher in people who suffer from other mental disabilities.
